Business & Human Rights Forum 2019
Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN), Oxfam GB in Indonesia (Oxfam), International NGOs Forum on Indonesian Development (INFID) are in collaboration to run European Union (EU) funded program titled “Walking the Talk: Promoting Accountable Business through Advancement of United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) Implementation in Indonesia.” Throughout 3 years, the project has facilitated numerous dialogues with various intriguing topics and has gathered more than 1000 leaders to discuss their experience and challenges in implementing business and human rights in their respective areas.
This year, IGCN, INFID and OXFAM are in collaboration with Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Law and Human Rights to conduct a strategic forum titled “Business and Human Rights Forum 2019” on 27 February 2019 at Le Meridien Hotel and will attract more than 100 stakeholders from companies, CSOs, government and academia. This forum will include Multi-stakeholders Dialogues to facilitate information-sharing and learnings for stakeholders about the implementation of UNGPs in Indonesia, and the launch of the first Business and Human Rights online platform in Indonesia to provide accessible information for learning about business and human rights practices.
The forum aims to promote, facilitate and implement UNGPs, to raise awareness on the implementation of Business and Human Rights, to support corporation, civil society and academia through collaborative actions in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to strengthen National Action Plan on Human Rights (NAP HR) and to pursue National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP BHR) in Indonesia.
